Female Destiny Part 3 #9

(If you are new to this blog or have not read them all, they are in reverse order from the last blog to the first blog.  I recommend reading and pondering them in order so as to follow the path of purpose of this journey of your HEART and Life StoryRobersonchip40@gmail.com.)

Have you ever noticed how
you feel when a pretty girl walks into the room?

Many girls struggle with their beauty.  It is easy to confuse beauty for worth.

Leo Tolstoy says it’s amazing how complete is the delusion “that beauty is goodness.”  If you aren’t beautiful, somehow you’re less good, less valuable.

The longer you look, the more do you think she is better than you, or she’s not as ____________ as me.

You look because you’re trying to find out how you measure up to her.  What you’re really asking is, “Am I enough?”

How much time do you spend on perfect curls and skin and accessories.  At some point, do you need to stop and ask why you devote so much energy to this pursuit of beauty?  Are you trying to vie for more power over the males in your life?   Over other girls?

You cannot check out of any grocery store without paying your dues.  The magazines that line the aisles are more than happy to tell you that you’re not measuring up.  You get a free education in what the movie stars are wearing, how thin or fat they’ve become, what mascara they use, and why none of them wear glasses.

Who taught you that your body matters so much?

What lessons about body image have you learned from culture?

Describe girls that you disrespect.

How are they like you?
